My team and I made our way to Upper Barn Location House in Sussex. It's a dream of a location, beautifully put together with a light and airy feel and touches of rustic. Perfect for our look! I especially loved a feature wall the owner had created herself using foraged dried flowers fixed to the wall with masking tape and it looked truly beautiful. The owners were extremely hospitable and we enjoyed turning up to their home everyday.
I often get major house envy when I go on location and this was definitely one of those moments!!

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE LOOK..
This look can be done in so many different styles of home from new builds to old barn houses and it looks great anywhere!
This look is all about minimalism and texture. Texture, texture, texture. Its bringing the outside in- whether it be plants, dried flowers or getting down and dirty into the forest and finding natural twigs or old tree stumps, you can really get creative with this look. Just think- you've found a beautiful branch on a forest walk, you take it home despite the odd looks from fellow walkers and then you spray paint it white, you lean it against your white walls and BANG there's a beautiful feature you've made yourself and looks fantastic. This is what I mean when I say the variety of texture is key, even though the white twig on the white wall may sound slightly boring its the different textures of those elements that make it beautiful. The look is simple but its thought of.
Dried flowers create the perfect feel for this look. Pampas grasses are a huge craze right now and you can get these from most florists, I got mine from Grace & Thorn on Hackney Road. But you can also get them online from Ebay, Rockett St George & Pavot Blue Interiors. You can get gorgeous dried Phalaris Grass from Rose & Grey Interiors
TOP TIP- Spray Pampas grasses with hair spray to stop them moulting
House plants are another recent trend that I don't think will ever die and they are a great way to accessorise around your home. When I'm doing a shoot and I need plants I go to Columbia Road Market for some great bargains, The Flower Warehouse on Cambridge Heath Road for a huge range of plants and Conservatory Archives on Hackney Road is such a beautiful little shop filled to the brim with gorgeous greenery.
Another fabulous way to get plants straight to your door without stepping a foot outside is Patch Plants, this company have revolutionised the London plant business, hand delivering them to your door, with the most amazing range of plants to choose from. Highly recommend these guys, the delivery is a huge convenience especially in the times we are facing right now.
LET'S TALK WALL ART..
Wall art is an important aspect when creating a home look, it often creates height into your room and a point of interest so its important its something that looks great and is a piece you love to look at. These set of 3 canvases from Next Home are a really fab addition to this look, bringing a slight touch of glam to the neutral tones, they come in a smaller size too!
Other wall art I love to use are poster prints and Desenio do them so well, fabulous quality and an amazing variety for different interior styles. Another great way to add character to walls is creating a canvas yourself, you can experiment with different tools like sponges or scrapers and add different tones of paint onto a plain canvas to create an abstract piece of art. You could also sketch a line drawing onto a piece of paper and add it into a poster frame.

RELAXED DINING
In this dining room look I created, I really love that it feels like summer. It reminds me of a stylish villa somewhere hot and that ain't a bad look to be having back at home. It's the white that creates freshness with the hints of green and raw textures that bring it to life. It's important to create an environment, especially in a dining setting, that feels inviting. A place that is sociable and relaxed and this bench set is a perfect size for just the two of you or a social evening with friends.
When styling a dining space I like to have stylish kitchen pieces on display, things like chopping boards, serving bowls and spoons these all contribute to a laid back look and it's practical, you can grab them when you need them instead of rummaging through every cupboard.
